We are very happy to announce that we are opening the Park course this Friday, April 7! Both of our courses have survived the hard winter very successfully and are once again ready to be enjoyed by players. We dear say that the Park course is in its best ever condition for the opening of this season! This is of course the fruit of the hard work of our greenkeeping team.
The preparations made for the winter in autumn and the constant battle against snow and ice have ensured that our courses are in a very good shape for the beginning of this season. We removed snow from the greens on seven occasions this winter – it usually takes 2–3 days, but the greatest challenge this winter was served up by the 50–60 cm layer of snow which came down in the middle of December and took six days to remove from the greens. Removal of the snow and the thaw periods allowed us to spray the grass even in winter and thereby ensure the best protection from diseases. We also cleared the tees and some parts of the fairways of snow to prevent the formation of ice and protect the grass.
Even though we have not been able to undertake full-scale spring maintenance works due to the night frosts, we have performed different maintenance mowing and rolling on the greens for the opening of the Park course. The bunkers have been machine-treated, we have started brushing the fairways, and removing the debris of fallen branches left behind by winter storms.

So let us be grateful and take care of the courses when we come to play – by removing ball marks on the green and repairing divots. We also advise all visiting players to book their tee time well in advance when planning to come and play in Niitvälja. The earlier you book your tee time, the better the price!
HOW TO BOOK A TEE TIME?
From this season, Niitvälja Golf is using a new tee time booking system, Chronogolf by Lightspeed. The same system is also used by several other courses in Estonia. Those players who have paid for membership at Niitvälja already have accounts in the system. When using the system for the first time, the player must activate their account. Visiting players can easily create their accounts in the course of booking their first tee time.
Detailed instructions for using the tee time booking system can be found here.
